General Policies

All classes include a Home Materials set that is paid separately from the class tuition.

Newcomers are welcome to register for class even if the class has started!  

Kindermusik:

Before class

- If necessary, please take your child to the restroom and after entering the class, remove his/her shoes.  Kindermusik lesson plans include a lot of moving, and it is easiest to experience freedom of movement without shoes.  In addition, children learn best through their senses, including touching/feeling on the bottom of their feet.

- Please let toys, juice cups, and water bottles be kept out of sight, and that snacks be finished prior to class.

During class

- It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class.  

- Don't be discouraged--what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class.  The understanding and consistency of the parent in class and at home are keys to facilitating musical learning and growth.

- When you are an active, focused enthusiastic participant in the class activities, your child will model your actions and focus more fully too!

After class

- You and your child will benefit enormously from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials.  Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the difference in a child's comfort and participation in the classroom.

Refund Policy

Monterey Park Recreation Center Refund Policy

A cancellation fee of $7 will be deducted from all refunds made prior to the start of first class meeting.  No refunds will be made after class begins.  Cancellations must be made in person.  No telephone cancellations will be accepted.

Full refund by City check will be made if class is cancelled by the Recreation and Parks Department.  REFUND MAY TAKE FROM 3 TO 5 WEEKS.

San Marino Recreation Center Fees/Refund Policy

* San Marino recreation asks for an yearly-only $25 non-resident fee per participant if you do not live or work in San Marino, or if your child does not attend a San Marino public school.

Any activities canceled by the Department will result in a full refund.  All refund checks will be issued approximately two weeks following the refund request.  There could be a 20% administrative charge per class for all refund requests.

South Pasadena Recreation Center Refund Policy

Refunds will be granted if participant notifies the Community Services Department of the cancellation before the start of the second class, less a $5 handling fee.  No refunds or exchanges will be granted once second class has started.

Arcadia Recreation Refund Policy
Refunds will be assessed a $10 service charge.  No cash refunds.  Checks will be issued about 2 weeks following the refund request.  Refunds must be requested before the second meeting of a class. 

Temple City Recreation Refund Policy
If prior to the start date of the class, you may withdraw yourself at any time. However, if you would like to withdraw after the class start date or would like to request a refund of your fees please contact the Live Oak Park Community Center during regular business hours. Refunds are seldom available after the class start date and a processing fee may be applied if fees are refunded.
